Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur

The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (commonly known as IIT Kharagpur or IIT KGP) is an autonomous engineering and technology-oriented institute of higher education established by the Government of India in 1951. The first of the original five IITs to be established, it is officially recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India and is regarded as one of the best engineering institutions in India. IIT Kharagpur was established to train scientists and engineers after India attained independence in 1947. It shares its organisational structure and undergraduate admission process with sister IITs. The students and alumni of IIT Kharagpur are informally referred to as KGPians. Among all IITs, IIT Kharagpur has the largest campus (2,100 acres), the most departments, and the highest student enrolment.

It is a national level Case Study Competition, organized by the students of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, it challenges the best Undergraduate and Graduate students from all over India to compete against each other and prove their business and entrepreneurial skills in a real life business case scenario. Not only business skills and technical understanding are necessary, but also the feeling for entrepreneurship and a sense for market opportunities is needed.

The Indian Case Challenge , popularly known as ICC, is held during GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUMMIT, during the month of January every year. GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUMMIT is one of the biggest entrepreneurial platforms for academicians, new age entrepreneurs, eminent business personalities, and venture capitalists. Shaurya 2012

Shaurya is the annual inter-collegiate sports meet of IIT Kharagpur. It is a three day fest of the college, which attracts sportsmen from all over the country to gather together and prove their mettle, as fall arrives. Shaurya 2012, the 4th edition of this meet, will be held from 12th to 14th October this year.

IIT Kharagpur, the pioneer of all IITs, is respected globally for its high quality education and research outputs. Going hand in hand with the strenuous academics, is an extremely vibrant campus life. It ensures that books aren't the only education parted here. The sports culture of the college is very developed, Shaurya being the yearly attraction for sportsmen. The 2100 acre campus allows for the vast grounds and courts required for outdoor sports. Along with this, IIT Kharagpur boasts of sports infrastructure meeting International Standards. The Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive

The Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive(EAD) is one of the flagship events of Entrepreneurship cell, a non profit student-professor body dedicated to the promotion of student startups and entrepreneurship, both inside IIT kharagpur and outside.For this purposose Guest Lectures, Workshops and Business Plan Competitions and provide mentorship and incubation support to aspiring student entrepreneurs are conducted.EAD has come a long way since its inception 4 years ago and has see the number of cities grow from 10 to 20 and a footfall of 7550 in 2011.

The Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive also coincides with the launch of our International Business Plan Competitions:Empresario and Envision, which attract enthusiastic participation from all over the nation and beyond.

Apart from a whopping 6 lakh rupees prize money the winning teams receive, they also get to pitch in front of India's biggest VCs through the elevator pitch organized by E Cell as a part of Global Entrepreneurship Summit in the month of January every year. Empresario is powered by Mahindra Spark the Rise program and is also associated with Dell Social Innovation Challenge.
