Minimum Eligibility: For candidates who passed their Board examination , the eligibility criteria for admission is 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST/PD) in their 12th Standard or equivalent qualifying examination.

International Conference On Emerging Electronics

International Conference on Emerging Electronics (ICEE) will be held at IIT Bombay, India during December 15-17, 2012. The theme of the conference will be ‘Emerging Electronics & the More than Moore Era'. ICEE will be a biennial conference which aims to serve as a unique platform towards shaping the future of research in electronics looking beyond the CMOS Technologies. ICEE 2012 will be jointly organized by IIT Bombay and IISc Bangalore and technically co-sponsored by IEEE Electron Devices Society.

The conference will consist of tutorial sessions, plenary/invited talks and contributed papers on various focus areas in emerging electronics. There will be dedicated poster sessions where Ph.D. students will have an opportunity to present their work to an international panel of experts and get feedback on their research ideas/results. The following focus areas have been identified for ICEE 2012. Research scholars working in these areas are particularly encouraged to attend and present their work.

Eureka! is an international business plan competition which aims at encouraging people from across the globe to flesh out their ideas and form global enterprises that combine technology, vision and business acumen. A 5 month long educational experience, the format of the competition has been designed to emulate the process of raising funds for one's startup, covering right from writing a business plan to pitching before an investor. Now in its 14th year, Eureka! has become a launch pad for startups in India and beyond where they learn how to formulate an appropriate b-plan and the do's and don'ts of making the right pitch from expert mentors, industry veterans and investors.

Over a period of 14 years, Eureka! has grown from a competition consisting of 50 teams competing for INR 50,000 to over 3600 teams from around the world competing for a total prize money of INR 4 million and networking opportunities in India and the Silicon Valley. It has been independently recognized as Asia's largest Business Plan Competition by Thomson Reuters and CNN.

For about eight years now, Fourth Wall, the Dramatics Club of IIT Bombay, has been organizing 'Theaterfest', an annual festival in which a number of international plays are staged. Theater groups from around the world come to campus to perform. We have had theater stalwarts like Rakesh Bedi and Naseeruddin Shah perform at the Open Air Theater in the campus.

But this year, the Theaterfest is going to be bigger. The convocation hall in the campus was renovated recently, and now, it has the capacity of over 1800 people, making it one of the biggest auditoriums in the city. The Theaterfest 2012 is going to be held in the new Convocation Hall.

IIT Bombay is organising an Institute Colloquium on Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Pandit Nayan Ghosh, a distinguished guest professor IIT Bombay, will speak about The Role of Music in One's Life and its usefulness in Society.

In his talk, Pandit Nayan Ghosh will focus on the various facets of music, its physiological
and psychological effects on man, how it affects one's life as a practitioner or just a lay listener, its
constructive role in the proper and wholesome growth of a person right from childhood throughout
life. He will also discuss how music plays a vital role in various situations and occasions in society,
how music works as a tool for patriotism and for relief programmes, and, of course, music as a
therapy, as entertainment and as a way of life.

 


TPMDC 2012

The conference on Transportation Planning and Implementation Methodologies for Developing Countries (TPMDC) is being organized by the Transportation Systems Engineering (TSE) group at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. IIT-B is one of the top technical institutes in the world, established in 1958 by the Government of India. The TSE Group started in 1988 has currently grown to five faculty members and more than thirty graduate students. It is known for its cutting edge research and involvement in major transportation studies in India. Starting from the year 1996, we have been conducting international workshops on TPMDC, biannually and this year marks the tenth of its kind. On the occasion of the successful completion of 25 years of TSE group at IIT Bombay, we are organizing TPMDC-2012 as TSE Silver Jubilee International Conference

This conference will serve as an ideal platform to share the findings on issues concerned with the developing countries. Many approaches adopted in developing countries are derived from the work done in the developed countries. Thus, the conference will open many folds for the developing countries by providing an insight into the techniques and methods used by the developed nations. TPMDC-2012 promises to be an outstanding international technical forum for participants to further enhance their technical knowledge by exchanging opinions and ideas.

It is today well established as Asia's Largest Science and Technology festival, with more than 92,000 people in attendance and a reach of over 2200 colleges across India and over 500 overseas.

In its endeavour to provide an international platform to the youth to showcase their talents and skill sets in fierce competitions, display cutting edge technology and research from all over the globe, have world renowned personalities motivate the youth and promote solutions to alleviate the common man of his banal yet significant problems, Techfest strives for one and all to get inspired and look up to.

Mood Indigo 12

MOOD INDIGO, or MoodI, as it is fondly called, is the annual cultural festival of IIT Bombay. Held towards the end of December every year, it attracts a whopping 75,000 students from more than 550 colleges all over the country.

Started in 1971 by a bunch of enthusiastic IITians, Mood Indigo has now snowballed to become the largest festival of its kind in Asia. The colour chosen to be representative of the Mood was Indigo - a fusion of Red and Blue. Red for the warmth and passion of an artistic adventure, blue for the originality of the rational mind, giving Indigo - the symbol of creativity and intellectualism.
This year Mood Indigo promises to be much more fun, entertaining, exuberant and to get your Mood High!!
