    Modelling of solidification processes
    Microstructure evolution
Solidification under micro-gravity and external fields
    Solidification of composites
Defects in castings due to solidification
Bulk metallic glasses and nanocrystalline materials
    Advanced materials and processes
    In-situ observation of solidification process
